Jolly Pumpkin La Parcela

Jolly Pumpkin La Parcela, originally uploaded by adambarhan.

A: Pours a dark cloudy orange with a huge white head, had to wait a bit to drink it. Leaves lots of lace.

S: A touch of funk and sour coming though with some spices. Not much pumpkin which is nice

T: A touch sour and funky, the lightest pumpkin beer I have had. Sweet with a slight acid bite.

M: Moderate acidity, medium-bodied, dry slightly bitter aftertaste.

D: Interesting beer for sure. Very characteristic jolly pumpkin, not a spice/pumpkin bomb witch I did like.

Serving type: bottle

Jolly Pumpkin Bam Noire

A: Dark brown with red hints. Produces a off white head that settles quickly

S: Token funk coming through. A slight tannin maybe leather smell as well.

T: Slightly sour but eases up pretty quick to the familiar Saison taste.

M: light body with high carbonation that tingles.

D: A nice saison but not the best I have ever had. The sourness is a welcomed addition though

Appearance: Pours a nearly clear, yellow body with a fizzy, white head.

Smell: A touch of maltiness with scents of coriander and farmhouse funk

Taste: Light malt sweetness and flavor with a nice amount of lemons and bananas. Some Belgian-type spices thrown in. Both lightly bitter and sour on the lasting finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Moderate carbonation.

Drinkability: A very good Saison from JP

Easter 2012 Beer
A: The beer pours a lightly hazed golden orange color with a tall white head.

S: A very nice tart aroma of apples, pears, and peaches. Light grass notes to it and some wet oak. A little bit of earthiness and some lemon zest. Still a little bit of malt and a touch of pepper.

T: Some light spice, particularly white pepper. Hints of bready malts in the background, but the tartness really takes hold. Lemon zest, lactobacillus, grapes, and apples provide a nice complexity and tartness.

M: Medium in body with a medium to high carbonation.

O: A winner from Jolly Pumpkin. This is a really nice somewhat sour Saison
