Its been a while so I guess its time to get back on the hog, I have quite a queue of beers to go. Onward…
A -A bright hazy straw yellow with a 1/2 inch of fizzy white head.
S – Smells of subdued spices and some cardamom, light bittering hops, and some wheat.
T – Not a traditional saison but pretty damn good. Needs more wild characteristics and maybe some brett flavor.
M – Light and bubbly, went down quicker than a Saison should.
Will definitely pick this one up again.
A: Pours a hazy golden orange color with a small white head, rather foamy that reduces to a nice cap on top with some pretty nice lacing all around the glass.
S: Some light tropical fruit on the aroma, mostly passion fruit with a bit of lemon/lime citrus and some bready malt.
T: Not as fruity as the aroma, definitely a bit breadier. There is again a bit of passion fruit/papaya, but the citrus isn’t really there. A heavy dose of fresh bread comes through in the middle.
M: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Pretty clean.
O: Pretty good beer, a little fruitier on the flavor profile would have done it for me. was expecting something great here…
A: Pours pale golden/orange color with a bit of haze. A two finger white head forms with good retention. Plenty of lace is left behind.
S: Definitely crystal malts. A cereal grain aroma with a light sweetness. A light bitterness that fades to a grassy/floral aroma. Finishes with a dry yeast character. Some light peppery phenols.
T: Pretty much follows the nose. Some cereal, bread and biscuit. Even some dry cracker flavors up front. A light sweetness after that. Grassy and floral hops. Then phenolic and peppery yeast in the finish.
M/D: A medium body and good carbonation. This finishes dry and crisp. Smooth at the same time. Easy to drink.
A – Poured out a clear, amber color with golden highlights. It had a thick, off-white head of bubbly foam. It left some soapy trails of lace.
S – It smelled of sweet caramel, some grass and subtle spice.
T – It had a toasty maltiness with sweet caramel. There was a nice bitter hop character, not overpowering but just enough to add some balance.
M – It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A light bodied, easy drinking lager.
D – This is a really solid Oktoberfest. Cheap at the store and crazy at the bar. Tell me why its $3 and change at the store and $11 at Saucer? I dont get the markups.
A: Seems to be burgundy in color, although maybe a bit more “brownish”. A lot of foam initially, but it subsides quickly.
S: Smells sweet, a nice aroma of fruits with lots of figs and some dark cherries, a noticeable alcohol scent as well.
T: The fruit (especially the figs) come through, with notes of plums and cherries as well. A caramel type sweetness is present as well.
M: A nice amount of carbonation on the tongue, and good body.
D: A delicious Dubbel, and another fine beer from Ommegang.
A – Poured a cloudy, yellow color with golden highlights. A two-finger, rocky, white head of foam left sudsy patches of lace on the glass.
S – It smelled fruity and yeasty with a touch of wheat.
T – Good fruity bite from the Belgian yeast. Nice cracked wheat flavor with citrus notes.
M – It was crisp, sharp and smooth. A medium bodied ale with a dry finish.
O – They’ve really combined an American wheat beer and a Belgian IPA. Really cool would be a great summer beer

A – Poured out a somewhat cloudy, orange color with golden highlights. It had a small, thick, foamy head that left soapy trails of lace.
S – Tons of grapefruit aroma; really amazing! There were mild notes of pine and caramel.
T – It hits you with a tart ruby red grapefruit taste and sweet orange peel flavors. The burnt toast caramel flavors add balance to the strong fruit taste.
M – It was crisp and sharp with a dry finish. A medium bodied ale.
D – A very hyped beer, very good but not worth all the hype although I feel like I need one every time I see it.

Appearance: Pours a hazy light amber color and a fluffy white head that leaves great lacing
Smell: Nice citrusy grapefruit aroma
Taste: Grapefruit flavors dominate the taste buds with a subtle amount of caramel malt in the background; the finish is long and resinous
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied with moderate carbonation
Drinkability: Very smooth and surprisingly flavorful for a 6% beer; exceedingly drinkable fruity IPA
Appearance: Pours a hazy honey color with a modest head that leaves some spots of lace
Smell: Fruity and herbal, with floral lemony taste and rosemary, thyme and herb dominant
Taste: The floral lemon/lime elements kick off the flavor fest with the peppery yeast and herbal (rosemary, thyme and sage) aspect developing by mid-palate; after the swallow, the herbal tone grows medicinally bitter
Mouthfeel: Light to medium body with moderate to high carbonation
Drinkability: A very interesting brew, but the aftertaste is too medicinal and leaves it lacking compared to the other versions of this beer
A: I poured the bottle picked up from Specs into my Lost Abbey Teku glasses. It poured a clear, light brown color with a two finger off-white foam.
S: Not that much going on in the nose. I primarily pick up a yeasty and doughy aroma with some notes of spice.
T: The taste is much better than the nose. Nice notes of cinnamon and all-spice, and a solid pumpkin flavor. Not as sweet as many other pumpkin beers which is a nice break.
M: Medium bodied and moderately carbonated. The carbonation helps to keep things a little bit lighter.
D: It’s definitely a solid offering, and one of the best pumpkin beers I’ve had.
